Associate

Ryan Searson is a litigator at Jones & Keller, P.C., based in Denver, Colorado, where his practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and securities matters. He represents clients in commercial disputes and securities litigation and advises professionals in the securities and financial industries responding to regulatory inquiries and investigations.

Before joining Jones & Keller, Ryan clerked for the Honorable Christopher Zenisek and the Honorable Philip McNulty of the Colorado First Judicial District. As lead law clerk in the civil litigation arising from the Marshall Fire, the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history, he worked on complex litigation involving over 4,000 plaintiffs. His clerkships provided firsthand insight into trial-court proceedings and judicial decision-making that informs his approach to litigation.

Before law school, Ryan worked as a financial regulatory analyst at Foley & Lardner LLP and McGuireWoods LLP, where he assisted in representing clients responding to subpoenas and inquiries from the DOJ, SEC, FINRA, and securities exchanges involving equities, fixed income, derivatives, and other financial products. He helped develop regulatory response strategies, assess client risk, and conduct internal investigations involving allegations of insider trading, market manipulation, and other compliance violations. Earlier in his career, he worked as a paralegal at McGuireWoods, supporting litigation teams in employment, toxic tort, and securities matters.

Ryan graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law with Order of the Coif honors. He served as an editor of the Denver Law Review and the Sports & Entertainment Law Journal and volunteered with Learn Your Rights in the Community (LYRIC). He also served as a Student Attorney for Denver Law’s Advancing Social Change Clinic, where he researched corporate and nonprofit funding of political campaigns.
