Javier Heres is a litigator with Jones & Keller. His practice focuses on commercial defense, securities, and employment matters.
Having clerked for two Colorado district court judges, Javier is intimately familiar with being in a courtroom and what it takes to secure favorable judgments for his clients.
As a student attorney in the Denver Trial Office of the Public Defender, Javier’s persuasive style helped him manage over 20 cases, negotiate with deputy district attorneys, argue motions, and in conducting 3 jury trials.
Javier also has experience in every stage of litigation. He has clerked for the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Federal Public Defender for the District of Colorado and Wyoming. As summer fellow for Yale Law School’s Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic, Javier represented clients in administrative proceedings, pre-trial investigations, and in appellate matters, including the drafting and filing of a letter in the U.S. Supreme Court. Before that, he clerked in a law firm specializing in commercial defense litigation and for Xcel Energy’s general counsel.
