Javier Heres is a litigator with Jones & Keller whose practice focuses on commercial litigation, securities and employment matters. He has experience in every stage of litigation. Having clerked for two Colorado district court judges, Javier is familiar with the inner-workings of courtroom management and the preparation it takes to secure favorable judgments.
He clerked for the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Federal Public Defender for the District of Colorado and Wyoming. As a summer fellow for Yale Law School’s Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic, Javier represented clients in administrative proceedings, pre-trial investigations, and in appellate matters, including the drafting and filing of a letter to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Previously, he clerked in a law firm focusing in commercial litigation defense and for Xcel Energy’s general counsel. As a student attorney in the Denver Trial Office of the Public Defender, Javier managed over 20 cases, negotiated with deputy district attorneys, argued motions, and worked on numerous jury trials.
