Honoring Kayla Dreyer: Named to the 2027 Lawdragon 500 Leading Corporate Employment Lawyers

October 02, 2026

Kayla Dreyer is recognized in the 2027 Lawdragon 500 Leading Corporate Employment Lawyers

We are proud to announce that Jones & Keller shareholder Kayla Dreyer has been named to the 2027 Lawdragon 500 Leading Corporate Employment Lawyers, a national guide recognizing the lawyers employers turn to when the stakes are highest.

The Lawdragon 500 Leading Corporate Employment Lawyers honors company-side attorneys who represent businesses in labor and employment disputes. The guide covers wage-and-hour, discrimination and harassment claims, ERISA and collective bargaining, along with executive compensation, benefits and business immigration. It carries the longest history in the Lawdragon collection, dating to 2007, when it began as a Top 50 list published jointly with Human Resources Executive magazine.

A rigorous, journalism-driven selection

Lawdragon’s selections are grounded in more than 35 years of researching and reporting on the legal profession. Its editors review submissions alongside thousands of candidates they identify independently, with a strong emphasis on recent, significant matters. For this guide, candidates are vetted with editorial advisors from both the corporate and plaintiff sides of employment law, so honorees are respected by clients and opposing counsel alike.

Lawdragon also weighs leadership within a firm and the bar, the regard of peers, and personal character. Its editors are explicit that outstanding legal skill alone is not enough; how a lawyer treats colleagues, clients and opponents matters too.

Why Kayla

Kayla leads Jones & Keller’s employment law practice. For more than 15 years, she has represented businesses of every size, across industries, in courts and arbitrations nationwide. Clients value her ability to turn complex legal requirements into practical, business-minded strategies. Employers, executives and HR leaders rely on her as a trusted advisor and outside counsel.

Her work lines up squarely with what this guide recognizes. Kayla has defended an employer in multi-plaintiff wage-and-hour litigation, securing dismissal of key claims and favorable settlement terms. She has led internal investigations for Fortune 500 companies into discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, including an investigation of allegations against a CEO. She has negotiated executive employment agreements and separation packages for C-suite leaders in technology, energy, transportation, entertainment and professional services.

Kayla is also a go-to litigator when a business needs to move fast. She has obtained emergency relief in trade secret and unfair competition matters in jurisdictions across the country. She represents clients in restrictive covenant, non-compete and employee mobility disputes. She also works closely with the firm’s Corporate and M&A teams on employment due diligence, executive agreements and post-close integration.

A leader in the Colorado bar

Kayla is a past chair and current Executive Council member of the Colorado Bar Association Litigation Section. She authored the discovery chapter of the CBA’s Practitioner’s Guide to Colorado Employment Law and co-authored a Colorado Lawyer feature on Colorado’s non-compete statute. She speaks regularly on employment law updates, injunctive relief, mediation and workplace issues for bar and industry audiences.

Before private practice, Kayla clerked for the Honorable Carmen E. Garza of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico. She earned her J.D. with honors from The University of Texas School of Law and is licensed in Colorado and Texas.

This recognition adds to a growing list of honors. Kayla was named to 5280 Magazine’s Top Lawyers in 2025 and 2026 and to Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch in America” from 2023 to 2025. Beyond the law, she serves on the Board of Trustees of the Colorado Symphony.
